FROM HOLLYWOOD STARS TO GOBLINS, STAN ROLLED OUT THE BLUE CARPET TONIGHT FOR THE WORLD PREMIERE OF THE STAN ORIGINAL FILM 'THE PORTABLE DOOR'

Multi-Golden Globe nominee Sam Neill, Miranda Otto, Patrick Gibson and Sophie Wilde walked the Stan blue carpet in Sydney tonight to celebrate the highly-anticipated world premiere of the Stan Original Film The Portable Door premiering Friday April 7, only on Stan.

March 23 – Stan, Australia’s unrivalled home of original productions, rolled out the blue carpet tonight with a touch of magic for the world premiere of the Stan Original Film The Portable Door, a fantasy adventure premiering only on Stan from 7 April, same day as the U.K. and U.S.

Multi-Golden Globe nominee Sam Neill and Patrick Gibson were joined by the all-star Australian cast including Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings franchise), Sophie Wilde (Stan Original Series Eden)Arka Das, Damon Herriman (Stan Original Series The Tourist) and the award-winning director of the film, Jeffery Walker.

The stars were joined by some very special guests from the Sydney Children's Hospital, Sydney Children's Hospital CEO Kristina Keneally, Canteen CEO Peter Orchard, Today Extra co-host David Campbell, Stan Ambassadors Beau Ryan and his family, Roxy Jacenko with Pixie and Hunter Curtis, Rob Carlton (The Stan Original Series Black Snow), Steve Waugh, Evan Stanhope, Gilbert Bradman (The Stan Original Film Transfusion), Justin HillSam Fricker, Gracie Otto, Jason Stevens, Jessica Ferguson, The Dimi Family, George Burgess, Timothy Abbott and more. There were also extra surprises from the film - goblin appearances and an array of costumes were on display.

In The Portable Door, Paul Carpenter (Patrick Gibson) and Sophie Pettingel (Sophie Wilde) are the lowly, put-upon interns who begin working at the mysterious London firm J.W. Wells & Co. and become steadily aware that their employers are anything but conventional. Charismatic villains Humphrey Wells (Christoph Waltz), the CEO of the company, and middle manager Dennis Tanner (Sam Neill) are disrupting the world of magic by bringing modern corporate strategy to ancient magical practices, and Paul and Sophie discover the true agenda of the vast corporation where they work.

Adapted from Tom Holt’s eponymous seven-book fantasy series, the film is directed by award-winning Australian director Jeffrey Walker (Ali’s Wedding, Stan Original Series The Commons) from a screenplay adapted by Australian writer Leon Ford (Griff the Invisible).

The Stan Original Film The Portable Door will be streaming only on Stan from April 7.
