SUNDAY 26 MAY - SUNDAY 9 JUNE

23 May 2024 - Rafael Nadal, the Spanish tennis legend and undisputed greatest clay court player of all time, is set to return to Roland-Garros for its 129th iteration commencing this Sunday night from 7:00pm AEST on the Home of Grand Slam tennis, Stan Sport.

Nadal enters the French Open for what may be the last time, as the great Spaniard has indicated 2024 is likely to be his final season. He will celebrate his 38th birthday during the tournament, but his record at Roland-Garros is perhaps the most impressive in all of tennis - 112 wins, 3 losses.

While he has proven to be almost unstoppable on clay with an incredible 14 Roland-Garros titles to his name, he will have to get by the ageless world no.1 Novak Djokovic, who will be looking to extend his all-time record of Grand Slam wins to 24.

The Australian contingent will be spearheaded by world no.11 Alex de Minaur, who has been in career-best form in recent months. Three-time Grand Slam quarter-finalist Ajla Tomljanovic, who has received a wildcard while she climbs back up the rankings after a long-term knee injury sidelined her for much of 2023, will lead the women's charge at the tournament.

The Aussie men are surging at the moment however, and for the first time since 1999, there will be at least nine other Australians contesting the men's in singles draw at Roland-Garros, including the in-form Jordan Thompson [37], Alexei Popyrin [51] and Rinky Hijikata [78].

For all the Roland-Garros headlines, talking points and highlights, watch Grand Slam Daily, beginning next Monday and available every morning of the tournament on Stan Sport from 11:00am AEST. Hosted by Chris Stubbs with renowned Australian player, coach and commentator Wally Masur, the pair will cross regularly over the course of the tournament to Duncan McKenzie-McHarg on the ground in Paris, who will be chatting with some of the biggest names in world tennis.

With every match streaming ad-free, live and on-demand on Stan Sport, and with four courts in stunning 4K UHD, tennis has never looked better.
