20 October, 2023Stan Sport, the Home of Rugby, today announced the new look SVNS will join its extensive rugby offering in an exclusive multi-year partnership. The new series format will include eight events from the biggest cities in the world in the lead up to the highly anticipated Paris 2024 Olympic Games where Sevens will feature following its introduction to the Olympics program in 2016.

Formerly known as the World Rugby Sevens Series, the remodelled SVNS 2024 will include eight festival-style events, in eight iconic global destinations, across seven months, featuring the twelve best men’s and women’s teams in the world, and is set to kick off in December 2023.

Participating men’s teams include: Argentina, Australia, Canada, Fiji, France, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, Samoa, South Africa, Spain, USA.

Participating women’s teams include: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Fiji, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, USA.

Following a compelling record-breaking year for women’s rugby, the series will fully embrace gender parity with all eight rounds featuring not only combined men’s and women’s events, but also pay parity for both, ensuring that female players have equal opportunities to showcase their talents on the biggest stages around the world.

The addition of SVNS further cements Stan’s position as the Home of Rugby, with more world class rugby available in one place than ever before, including Rugby World Cup 2023, The Rugby Championship, Bledisloe Cup, Wallabies and Wallaroos home Tests, the 2025 British & Irish Lions Series, Spring Tour (Autumn Nations Series), Super Rugby Pacific, Super W, World XV and the Six Nations Championship.

The 2023/24 series kicks off in Dubai on December 2-3 before heading to Cape Town the following week. Perth has been locked in as a host for the 2024 and 2025 series, with the event set to take place from 26-28 January at HBF Park. The Perth event will kick off 2024 before events in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Singapore. It will conclude with the Grand Final in Madrid on 31 May - 2 June, where the top eight placed teams will battle it out for the overall title and the teams ranked ninth to 12th will join the top four teams from the World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series to decide the final four spots on SVNS 2025.

Stan Director of Sport Ben Kimber said: “Rugby Sevens is the perfect addition to our Stan Sport lineup. Building on the strength of our superb international slate of rugby, and connecting to the Paris Olympics where the Australian men’s and women’s teams will be right in the mix. Sevens is fast, physical and entertaining year round.

World Rugby are investing in reinventing and growing this version of their game and we’re ready to showcase it to a wider audience.”
