FREMANTLE AND FOX ENTERTAINMENT’S ICONIC NEW ACTION SERIES BAYWATCH TO PREMIERE EXCLUSIVELY ON STAN THIS SUMMER

September 17, 2026 – One of television’s most enduring and globally recognised franchises returns in January 2027, exclusively on Stan in Australia. The twelve-episode action-drama from Fremantle and Fox Entertainment reimagines Baywatch for a new generation, following an all-new team of lifeguards as they patrol the world’s most famous stretch of sand. Featuring the franchise’s iconic red swimsuits, the series will deliver adrenaline-fuelled rescues, tangled relationships, complicated chemistry and beachside heroics.

The series stars Stephen Amell in the lead role of Hobie Buchannon, alongside Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale, Shay Mitchell as Trina, Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Noah Beck as Luke, and Brooks Nader as Selene.
In recurring roles, David Chokachi reprises his original role as Cody Madison, while Livvy Dunne portrays Grace. Erika Eleniak, Michael Bergin, and Kelly Packard will also guest star in their roles as Shauni McClain, Jack J.D. Darius, and April Giminski, respectively.
First hitting screens in 1989, Baywatch became the most watched show in the world, airing in over 200 countries, and at its peak, reaching more than a billion viewers every week. The unforgettable original series starred heartthrob David Hasselhoff and launched the careers of international superstars from Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra to Jason Momoa and Yasmine Bleeth.
The series reboot will celebrate the franchise’s enduring legacy, while re-energising it for today’s global audience. Fans can expect all the adrenaline-fueled rescues, tangled relationships, complicated chemistry and beachside heroics that defined the original - now with an entirely new cast, contemporary trappings, tensions and challenges, and a renewed mission to protect Southern California’s shoreline.
The new series is co-produced by Fremantle and FOX Entertainment, Matt Nix (Burn Notice, The Gifted) serves as Showrunner and Executive Producer alongside executive producers McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. McG (Charlie’s Angels) directs the series premiere episode. FOX Entertainment Global holds all domestic distribution rights, and Fremantle manages all international sales.
