THE STAN ORIGINAL SERIES RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE DOWN UNDER CONFIRMED FOR SEASON 3

Third time’s a charm! A third season of the smash-hit Stan Original Series RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under has been confirmed as Season 2 is nominated for an AACTA award.

18 November, 2022 – Grab your wigs and pout those lips because the time has come… for you to be a Season 3 queen! Following two smash-hit seasons, Stan, the home of RuPaul’s Drag Race in Australia, today confirmed that a third season of the Stan Original Series RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under will return in 2023 with the mother of all drag queens RuPaul once again heading Down Under to host.

The announcement comes hot off the high heels of Spankie Jackzon being crowned the newest Down Under Drag Race Superstar in the second instalment of the local version of the global franchise, which was recently nominated for Best Entertainment Program in the 2022 AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema Television Arts) Awards taking place in Sydney this December.

Casting for Season 3 closed last week so now it will be up to a new line-up of the fiercest drag queens from Australia and New Zealand to battle it out on the runway to snatch the crown in 2023.

RuPaul, said: “I’m so excited for Season 3 of RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under! Australasian drag is spectacularly sickening, and I can’t wait for a new cast of queens to flash their charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.”

Cailah Scobie, Stan Chief Content Officer, said: “The fans spoke and we listened! Both seasons of Stan Original Series RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under have been such a hit that we knew we had to go for round 3. Aussies love seeing our exceptional homegrown talent in what’s known as the ‘Olympics of Drag’ and we can’t wait to see all the incredible new queens that will soon sashay on to our screens.”

The Stan Original Series RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under is a World of Wonder production in collaboration with Warner Bros. International Production New Zealand for Stan and TVNZ. Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell and RuPaul Charles serve as Executive Producers. Passion Distribution will distribute the series globally in line with Passion Distribution and WOW’s distribution strategy.

The third season of the Stan Original Series RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under will premiere in 2023, only on Stan.  All episodes of Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming.
