WEIGH-IN WAR: JAI OPETAIA AND HÜSEYIN CINKARA GO FACE TO FACE AHEAD OF RING OF FIRE

December 5, 2025 - On the eve of Saturday night's highly anticipated Ring of Fire: Opetaia v Cinkara, Jai Opetaia, Australia’s no.1 boxer and the world’s greatest cruiserweight, and Hüseyin Cinkara faced off at the weigh-in today in Surfers Paradise.

Joined by MC Thomas Treiber and panellists Michael Atkinson, Danny Green and Ted Cofie, the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre was filled with energy as Opetaia and Cinkara stepped onto the scales and confronted each other in a tense face-off ahead of tomorrow night’s highly anticipated fight night. 

Jai Opetaia said: “Just another day in the office. I’m pumped. I’m ready to put on an absolute clinic. So let’s do the fight, let’s rock and roll.”

Hüseyin Cinkara said: “I’ve come here with a belief. I’m here to fight. I’m going to win. I’m coming for war. I’m ready for war.”

Boxing legend Danny Green said: “It’s sold out once again. They’re here to see the champ, Jai Opetaia, the best cruiserweight in the world and we’re about to see why.”

All fighters weighed in ahead of the epic showdown, including Max McIntyre and Jed Morris who are fighting for the WBC Australasian Super Middleweight title as well as Jake Wyllie and Paul Flemming as they prepare to compete for the Super Lightweight title.

About Jai Opetaia: The IBF and The Ring world cruiserweight champion, Jai Opetaia is a fourth generation boxer. He became Australia's youngest-ever Olympic boxer at the age of 16, and is ranked as the number one cruiserweight boxer in the world by major boxing outlets including ESPN, Boxing Base and The Ring Magazine. Holding a perfect record of 28-0 with 22 knockouts, Opetaia is must-see TV whenever he steps in the ring.

About Hûseyin Cinkara: A German-born Turkish fighter, Hûseyin Cinkara is an IBF mandatory challenger. He was due to face Opetaia in January before tearing a ligament in training. This will be the first time Cinkara has fought outside of Europe. 

Ring of Fire: Opetaia v Cinkara will be held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre on December 6 with the main card beginning at 6:00pm AEDT, and is available to order now on Stan Pay-Per-View.
